Belittled by private investigator Terry Dane, he continued fighting criminals as the Black Owl-until he enlisted in the Army and handed down his costume to Walt Walters, the father of Yank and Doodle. With a whole host of enemies including Chief Skullface, the Fox, Frankenstein, Funnibone, the Green Mummy, the Tiger Lady, the Laughing Head and the Terrible Midge, among others, the Black Owl had plenty to keep him busy!
